Submit completed application, including required documents and fee of $50.
Complete an entrance interview. There may be times when prospective students may be asked to come back for a second interview.
Be emotionally mature and physically capable of giving massage, including the ability to both give and receive massage in a classroom setting by both male and female students.
Valid CPR/First Aid card by the start of the clinic.
Be 18 years old by the start of the program. Applicants under the age of 18 will be considered on a case-by-case basis and will require three reference letters.
Students should possess a high school diploma or its equivalency. Foreign transcripts will need to be evaluated by a reputable service and is at the applicant’s expense.
Being computer literate is recommended for all programs.
Prospective students must meet the entrance requirement for the 625-hour Licensure Program, 1-7 as stated above.
Official school transcripts and catalogue from the institute where credits were earned are required. If these documents are not available due to a school’s closure, decisions will be made on an individual basis.
To be eligible to transfer credits from another institution, students must have earned a ‘C’ or higher in the course(s).
Depending on the type and number of hours completed at another institution, a hands-on evaluation may be required as part of the interview process. The fee for the hands-on evaluation is $30.
If a written exam(s) is required to determine a student’s level of knowledge, the fee for each exam is $20
Massage Students who have graduated from the Essentials I Program at The Boulder Massage Therapy Institute must:
a. Submit completed application (minus personal statement and references) and required documents, pay the application fee of $25.
Prospective students who have completed at least a 500-hour program at another institute, and are applying to the Boulder Massage Therapy Institute:
a. Submit completed application (minus personal statement and references) and required documents, pay the application fee of $25.
b. Submit official school transcripts from the institute where credits were earned. If these documents are not available due to the school’s closure, decisions will be made on an individual basis. Documents will be reviewed by the director to ensure that the 500-hour program has readied students for the Essentials II Program.
3. LMT’s applying to Boulder Massage Therapy Institute:
a.Submit completed application (minus personal statement and references) and required documents, pay the application fee of $25.
b. Submit copy of Massage License along with the application.
