Ilyse has been a massage therapist for over 33 years training in numerous modalities, keeping her dedication to bodywork enlivened and dynamic. Her continuing education includes Myofascial Release, Rosen Method Bodywork, Breema, Reflexology, La Stone Therapy, Reiki, Comfort Touch (Massage for the Elderly and Ill), and Zero Balancing.
Volunteering for many years as a massage therapist for hospice programs led Ilyse to Klose Training’s Lymphedema/Manual Lymph Drainage Certification and then to the 450-hour training with the Peregrine Institute of Oncology Massage in Santa Fe, NM. She currently has a private practice and also works with oncology patients at the Center for Integrative Medicine in Good Samaritan’s Cancer Center.
Through a program called “Touch, Caring & Cancer”, Ilyse teaches caregivers ways to bring comfort and touch to their loved ones with cancer. She is enthusiastic about teaching massage students the skills and knowledge needed to safely and effectively care for the elderly, people living with cancer, and other special needs populations.
