Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, I moved out to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to get my Bachelor’s in Journalism from Marquette University as a way to support myself in healing from a traumatic brain injury that made it difficult to communicate. My own recovery process lead me to studying Soto Zen Buddhist meditation and participate in a three-month experiential Buddhist studies program in Japan. When I moved out to Denver after my undergrad, I trained as an apprentice in 5 Element Acupressure and Reflexology for three years. During my last seven years in practice supporting clients with traumatic brain injury, trauma, and difficult-to-treat conditions, I completed my four-year Master’s in Science of Oriental Medicine degree at Southwest Acupuncture College and received my acupuncture license and certifications in Chinese herbal medicine and trigger point injection therapy.
